Nissan Tekton 7-Seater SUV Spied in India: 2027 Launch, Size and Features
Spy photos show Nissan testing a three-row SUV based on the five-seat Tekton launched in July 2026. The mule is longer behind the rear wheels, wears new boomerang-style tail-lamps and a thicker LED light bar, and is expected in 2027 — Nissan’s second mainstream 7-seater after the imported X-Trail.
Managing director Saurabh Vatsa told Autocar India the model will be “completely different, not just an extension” of the Tekton, even though both use CMF-B.
What spy shots reveal#
Length and packaging#
- Extra length is mostly rear overhang (~300 mm reported), not necessarily a huge wheelbase stretch.
- 5+2 seating layout expected (third row for occasional use).
- Wider rear quarter glass than the five-seat Tekton.
Front end#
- Same inverted L-shaped DRLs and headlamp layout as Tekton.
- Camouflage hides a likely new grille and bumper.
Rear end#
- C-shaped Tekton tail-lights replaced by boomerang graphics.
- Full-width LED bar on the tailgate.
- Nissan lettering on the tailgate; number plate recess may move lower on the bumper.
Expected mechanicals#
No official India spec yet. Likely carry-over from Tekton:
| Engine | Notes |
|---|---|
| 1.0L turbo (T160) | Entry trims possible |
| 1.3L turbo (T280) | Expected hero motor with DCT |
Hybrid ruled out for Tekton — unlikely on 7-seater. FWD layout expected; AWD not confirmed.
Features may inherit from Tekton top trims: panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 360° camera, Level 2 ADAS, twin 10-inch screens, powered tailgate.
Price positioning#
Five-seat Tekton: ₹10.49–18.59 lakh ex-showroom. The 7-seater should command a premium — media guesses start around ₹18.5 lakh and climb toward ₹22 lakh+ for top DCT trims.
Rivals:
| SUV | Segment |
|---|---|
| Hyundai Alcazar | 6/7-seat mid-SUV |
| Mahindra XUV 7XO | 7-seat family |
| Tata Safari | Long-running three-row |
| Maruti Invicto | Hybrid people mover |

Nissan’s India comeback context#
2026 brought Gravite and Tekton; the 7-seater completes a volume trio aimed at Renault-Nissan network scale. Spy activity in October 2026 suggests development is late-stage, not early mule.

Bottom line#
The Nissan Tekton 7-seater is the brand’s play for Alcazar and Safari buyers — longer at the back, bolder at the tail, and timed for 2027 showrooms. Watch spy updates for interior leaks; until then, treat the five-seat Tekton as the car you can drive home this Diwali.
